About Us

Hi, we are Austin and Madeline Miller! We're the owners of Under The Bark Syrup Co. We live in Lonsdale MN on a 61 acre homestead that we purchased in October 2023 with our 2 daughters. Sustainability is something we cherish and want to bring into all of our products. Under The Bark Syrup Co started in 2011 as Three Rivers Farm. We were founded based on principles of making the world a healthier place through the love and enjoyment of pure maple syrup. We encourage maple syrup to be used as a natural replacement to all the processed sugars that exist. We've been working on getting all of our ingredients switched to local organic products. Below are all the sourced ingredients we have switched to organic:

• Vanilla Beans
• Cinnamon Sticks
• Blueberries
• Cranberries
• Habaneros
• Cardamom Pods

We're currently looking for suppliers of Ginger root, Ghost Peppers and Coffee Beans that're actually organically produced. If you have any recommendations, we'd love to hear!

Why isn't our syrup organic? For syrup to be truly organic, you can't have any farms within 10 miles of you spraying their crops with pesticides. I don't know if you've been to the Midwest but there's A LOT OF FARMS and most of them use traditional farming practices which also means their sprays, could potentially travel through the air and infect the trees. For that reason we're not allowed to claim that it's organic. We're in the works of trying to source an organic maple syrup producer also though so we're hoping to have some more options in the coming years.
